Placement Testing Information

ACT Placement Scores:
English
If your English score is 18 or higher, you do not have to take the English portion of the placement test. You can enroll in either Composition I or Business English.

Reading
If your ACT reading score is 18 or higher, you do not have to take the reading portion of the placement test. No reading class is required.

Math
You can choose not to take the math portion of the placement test if you wish to utilize your ACT score for math course placement.  If you feel you are prepared for a more advanced math course than your ACT scores indicate, you can take the math portion of the placement test for admittance to a higher level course.  Required scores for courses are as follows:

18
- Basic Applied Math, Beginning Algebra Block, or Tech Math I
19- Beginning Algebra,Tech Math II, Business Math, or Survey of Math
20- Intermediate Algebra, College Mathmatics, Physical Science, or Fundamentals of Chemistry
22- Five credit hour College Algebra
23- Three credit hour College Algebra
24- Statistics or Trigonometry
26- Calculus I
