PTK recognized on state level
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society returned home from the Kansas Regional Convention March 11, and was giving an award for development planning.
The chapter received the Five Star Development Plan as a Four Star Level for 2011.
One member from Pratt Community College was named Kansas Regional Vice President of the Western District of Phi Theta Kappa.
Jordan Ash, nursing student from Turon, received the title of vice president after giving a speech and being voted in.
“I am very excited for her,” said Hannah Shaw, co-sponsor of PTK. “She is a natural leader and will do a good job in this position.”
Shaw said it is important for members of her chapter to go to this event to learn more about PTK, see what other chapters are doing and to network.
“It is the best opportunity for student to get involved in PTK,” she said. “It helps them to get excited about the organization and get ideas for what we can do in the future.”
