Because of severe weather again headed this way, the Beavers turned around and hosted the #3 Hutch Dragons the next afternoon. Pratt showed no ill effects of the loss the night before coming out with tons of energy and effort. The Beavers offense couldn’t have looked any more the polar opposite of the Barton game, quick ball movement and attack mentality led to a 29-19 lead with 3:00 minutes to go in the first half. Unfortunately a few quick turnovers mixed with foul trouble gave the conference-leading Dragons a 1-point lead at the break, 33-32. The second half the Beavers kept things close by knocking down jumpers but couldn’t slow Hutch enough in transition and fell 64-54. Smith again led the Beavers in scoring with 19 points. Tatiana Grant had possibly her best all-around game of her freshman year with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists.
