Beaver Cross Country Continues to Develop at ESU Invitational
Competing in the largest meet to date, the Pratt Community College men and women's cross country team battled 25 colleges with over 350 competitors on a hilly and challenging course at the Emporia State Invitational this past Friday evening.
“This was a different experience for our student-athletes. It’s not often that we have the chance to compete against teams of this quality, nor do we get many opportunities to race on courses with this much undulation,” head coach Ryan Turner said. "The course was challenging and will be similar to what we’ll see at Regionals so it was good for our student-athletes to have this experience.”
Freshman Jenny Boroughs and Sophomore Blake Thompson were the two lone competitors for the Beavers. Boroughs placed 63rd in the women’s 5,000 meter race, while Thompson placed 119th in the men’s 8,000 meter race.
