Beavers struggle to overcome big lead against Barton

Release Date:
Thursday, October 11, 2012

The Beavers dropped a conference game to number five in the nation, Barton Community College on Wednesday. From the outset Barton took control and never gave PPC a chance to settle into the game.
Two early goals gave Barton the 2-0 lead. The Beavers pushed forward trying to get back into the game, however Barton took advantage of the space, and rattled 3 more goals to give the Cougars a 5-0 half time lead.
The Beavers restored some pride in the second half with some inspired play, but couldn’t find the net. As a result, the game finished 5-0. This loss drops the Beavers to 7-6 on the season .
"The Beavers have to pick themselves up with three big conference games left," said Coach Kewley.
The Beavers will have the opportunity starting with Johnson County Community College on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Beaver Pitch.
