Cloud County defeats Lady Beavers 2-1
The Lady Beavers traveled to Cloud County Community College yesterday to face the Thunderbirds. The first half was characterized by smart and aggressive play. Unfortunately, a couple of defensive miscues led to a 2 nil deficit for the Beavers at halftime.
The second half was dominated by the Beavers with Donna Nickolay making brilliant saves between the posts. Lindsey Keais became the first freshman to get on the score sheet this season as she connected on a cross from Holly Harrod.
Dulce Espino and Holly Harrod continued to create chaos in the Cloud penalty box, forcing multiple saves by the Cloud goal keeper.
In the end, the defensive mistakes were too much to overcome and the final score was 2-1 in favor of Cloud.
The Lady Beavers are at home Thursday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. for their final regular season game. (This game was moved, so it is not properly listed on your schedules.)
