Beavers end season on loss, look to rebound in playoffs

Release Date:
Thursday, October 18, 2012

The Beavers travelled to Dodge City Wednesday night to finish the regular season in very cold and windy conditions. From the outset neither team was able to control the game.

Playing their third game in five days, the Beavers had little to offer offensively, but kept Dodge City Community College under control. Just minutes before the half time whistle, Dodge took the 1-0 lead on a free kick from 20 yards out.

In the second half the Beavers pushed the action, but found the Dodge goalkeeper in fine form. Nik Bohne, Eddie Hernandez and Callum Strang all went close to tying the game up, but in the end Dodge CC held out for the 1-0 victory.

"This loss tonight leaves us with a 10-7 record, and I’m very proud of the effort from all of my guys." said Coach Kewley.

This match ended the regular season for the Beavers, who begin the first round of the playoffs next week.
