Rodeo


Pratt Community College’s Rodeo Program is a vital part of the college’s Agriculture Department. The team participates in the Central Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Pratt is host to one of the largest college rodeos in the state each October.

Women's team wins second straight rodeo at Garden City

The PCC Rodeo Team went to Garden City the weekend of March 1 where the women's team won their second straight rodeo.
 
Shayna Miller won the average in the goat yying while Tish Simon and Tanya Steinhoff won second and fourth overall in the barrel racing. Steinhoff leads the pack sitting number one in the Central Plains Region Barrel Racing Standings....more »

Rodeo team has five advance to short round

The Pratt Community College rodeo had five students make the short round at their home rodeo the weekend of Oct. 12.
 
Ty Batie of Black Hawk, SD and Cole Owens of Baker City, Ore., made the short round in team roping, Tish Simon of Mankato and Tanya Steinhoff of Vinita, Okla., in barrel racing and Kyle Zeigler of Atwood in bull riding.

Owens enjoys fresh start in rodeo

Roping at a new school this year, on a new horse, with a new partner, Cole Owens of Baker City, Ore., sees results in the arena.
 

Owens came to Pratt Community College from Northwest College in Wyoming to be a team roper and finish his Associates Degree in Beef Production and Ag Marketing.

Steinhoff overcomes adversity by making short-go

After falling just a few points short of making the College Final Rodeo last year, Tanya Steinhoff is doing everything in her power to ensure that doesn’t happen again this year.
 
Steinhoff, sophomore at Pratt Community College, is a barrel racer and majoring in Agribusiness.

Marcin hopes to achieve rodeo goals this year

After winning multiple rodeo titles during her first two years of college Danni Marcin transferred to Pratt Community College where she hopes not only to win more individual titles, but also help the ladies team go to Nationals.
 
Marcin, of Curlew, Wash., transferred to PCC from Northwestern Wyoming where she ran barrels and participated in goat tying.
