Rodeo


Pratt Community College’s Rodeo Program is a vital part of the college’s Agriculture Department. The team participates in the Central Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Pratt is host to one of the largest college rodeos in the state each October.

Gardner, Linsday move up in standings

The Pratt Community College rodeo team competed in the Garden City Community College Rodeo this past weekend.
According to head men’s coach, Ryan Vander Pluym had a pretty good weekend with the highlight being Mitchell Gardner winning the steer wrestling and moving up to be a contender for a College National Finals Rodeo qualification.

Three rodeo students make short-go

The PCC Rodeo Team traveled to Manhattan over the weekend to compete in the Kansas State University Rodeo. The KSU Rodeo was the first of six spring rodeos scheduled in the Central Plains Region this spring.
 
A total of 15 PCC  athletes entered the rodeo while three competitors proved tough and qualified for the short round and placed in the average.

PCC women team win hometown rodeo

Pratt Community College women’s rodeo team won this year’s hometown rodeo, which took place over the weekend. Scores are still being tallied for the men’s team.

Steinhoff to participate in second rodeo since accident

“It was devastating,” said Pratt Community College barrel racer, Tanya Steinhoff. “I couldn’t believe I wouldn’t be able to ride for two years.”
Steinhoff, who is from Vinita Okla., was in an accident while running barrels in January and was told she wouldn’t be able to ride for two years after lacerating and bruising her liver. She spent a week...more »

Musick to try new event at PCC rodeo

Hoping to help the team out and find a new event he’s good at Pratt Community College Rodeo member, Colton Musick has started steer wrestling this season.
“I originally tried it because the coach thought I would be good at it and that I could help the team out,” Musick, a sophomore from Pierre, S.D., said.
