Phi Theta Kappa will be sponsoring a blood drive through the American Red Cross on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

Women’s Soccer Remains Undefeated with Dodge Win

 Coming off a conference win on Friday, the PCC Women’s Soccer Team squared off in a non-conference match on Tuesday. This was PCC’s first contest at their temporary home pitch in Havilland, KS, and the win moved them to 2-0 on the season.

Men's Soccer Opens with Win over Indy

The Pratt Community College Men’s Soccer Team opened their 2010 campaign with a hard fought 1-0 win against Independence Community College on Friday. Callum Charlton scored the winning goal just before the halftime whistle. Pratt had several other excellent scoring opportunities in the second half, but could not capitalize on any of them.

Volleyball Goes 2-2 in Opening Tournament

It was a somewhat auspicious beginning for the 2010 Beaver volleyball squad, as the freshman laden team went 2-2 over the weekend in Lamar, Colorado. Pratt defeated Clarendon (TX) and Sheridan (WY), but lost to #21 Laramie County (WY) and Western Wyoming.

Lady Beaver Soccer Team Nets Historic Win

The Lady Beaver Soccer Team opened their inaugural season with a victory over Independence on Friday afternoon. Pratt defeated their Jayhawk Conference opponent 2-1.  Alycia Reed scored the historic first goal for Pratt's women's soccer program, taking a cross from Tanya Morales.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Accounting and Business Department of Pratt Community College has a mission of providing students educational experiences and opportunities to meet their diverse and changing needs. The Accounting and Business Department offers courses that enable the student to transfer to a four-year college or university or to prepare for and obtain employment. It also provides continuous training and education, which allows professionals to update their skills and remain competitive in the job market.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Students in required computer class will demonstrate 80% of the computer competencies.
  2. Associate of Science business graduates will successfully transfer to a four-year college or university.
  3. Students completing an Associate of Applied Science degree desiring to enter the world of work will find employment in their field.

Kappa Beta Delta Honor Society toured Koch, Ind. on March 24.

Daryl and Gary Trimpe; K.I.T.S. MFG. INC.

The Trimpe brothers grew up on a farm in Northeast Pratt County. But it wasn’t until the early ‘80s that they decided to go into a business they knew all too well. Gary had worked in Alaska for four years in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

Ricke Elected to Associate Board of Commissioners

Pratt Community College’s business instructor Carol Ricke was elected to the Associate Board of Commissioners for the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. Ricke was nominated by another member of the board.
